DESCRIPTION: This painting depicts a group of xoloitzcuintles that are dancing with an ancestor. The ancestor is symbolized by a famous Pre-Hispanic Mask. Do you know which one this is? The xoloitzcuintle is a 3,000 year old breed of dog that was once buried with the dead to be a guide into the afterlife. I wanted to do a painting that honored this sacred animal that was used for spiritual purposes.
